Comparing proposals is like comparing apples to oranges, no two companies are identical but there are key items that can help you differentiate when given this task. The five items below may be hard to discover but are valuable once you learn the answers.

  1. SKILLED DATA COLLECTORS - Trained industrial electricians safely operate independently in a plant. They remove panel covers and track down equipment and panels in the facility, drawing on their years of experience. Are the collectors in-house or are they a sub-contractor? We only send Rozel employees with deep industrial experience.
  2. THE SAME DATA COLLECTORS APPLY THE LABELS - The data collectors who documented the facility electrical distribution system know where everything is located and are most qualified to apply the warning labels to the equipment. Some companies send another person to do this. Other companies provide you with labels to apply, this might be a cost savings up front but could be very costly later on if labels are never applied. Our standard practice is that the same person who collected the information apply the labels, a Rozel employee.
  3. TIMING OF LABEL APPLICATION - The sooner the better. Some arc flash evaluation providers will send someone back months after collection. Not only is the clock ticking for letting workers know their hazards, but mistakes for proper labeling can also occur as time goes by.
  4. LABEL LAYOUT - Large, clear labels lets maintenance personnel see what PPE they must wear from a distance. Not only will it allow a worker to make clear decisions but also helps if the equipment is in a difficult to access location such as on a bus bar requiring access by a ladder. This article goes into detail on the subject: https://www.70econsultants.com/what-should-an-electrical-hazard-label-look-like/
  5. REVIEW AND REPORT ACCESS - Reviewing the arc flash report with the client helps them understand the risks and how to implement the recommendations. Client focused providers give customers access to all documentation and hand over the engineering model file. Rozel creates a customer portal and labels your equipment with information for accessing the portal, reporting is never lost.
